Convene was in place prior to my joining Linklaters, but one of the key reasons was because, being a legal firm, we were dealing with very high volumes of paper. We were printing a large number of paper bundles. There was also a need to be able to instantly and easily access documents which was not possible before Convene was implemented.
Before Convene, meeting papers had to be circulated via email, this was costly in terms of time, but also it made it difficult if meeting papers were submitted late, or if any documents had to be removed or amended once the meeting pack had been compiled.
We had 100 licenses in place, and this has increased to 120. Convene is used by our Executive committee and Partnership Board which has six committees under that heading. It is also used by our committee in Asia. It’s also used by our administrators who find it very easy to set up a meeting and attach the relevant documents.
