A Matter of Minutes: Part 2

By Lavaniya Das on 20/10/17 09:15

Jotting down the minutes of a meeting, drafting a longer account and getting them approved may seem like a boring administrative task. But in three years when this document is all that remains of the meeting that no-one can remember much of, it becomes a task of vital importance.

Boards make strategic decisions which affect the important day-to-day work at all levels of the organisation. As seen in recent history, being able to trace the decision can lead to insight and in some cases justice.

On September 19th, Joanna Gutmann, the UK's leading expert in minute-taking held a seminar at the Annual National Housing Federation Conference. She presented an overview of the ten key ‘essentials’ of good minutes and explained their relevance.

If you weren't able to attend, you can still download our exclusive guide, 'The Ten Minute Essentials' by Joanna Gutmann.

Next time you are at a conference, look out for the Convene stand. Our digital meeting platform makes it easy to take notes, keep a record of events, and take your meeting packs with you on the go. You can even set up an action item for the board to approve the Minutes while the meeting is still fresh in their minds.
