After declining ratings, and scandal after scandal, the Oscars decided they need a complete revamp and a refocus on good governance. When they contacted us about hosting next year, we turned to them and said “Are you talking to me?” Convene knows that diversity and accessibility is the key to success, so we made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. We did our due diligence before we agreed and audited previous years and realised what we have here is a failure to communicate. That being said, we think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
When putting together our proposal, they were impressed by Convene’s wide-range of features but we were shocked when they said “show me the money”. But, not as shocked as they were when they discovered how cost-effective we are. This is not the first big event we have hosted, recently hosting CGI’s AGM, we feel like we can only do or do not, there is no try. Thinking about it, we may need a bigger boat to host so many stars!
The Oscars’ Committee really found that Convene was like harnessing the power of the sun in the palm of their hands. It truly is to infinity and beyond when it comes to our capabilities. After long deliberations, we are proud to announce that we have set a date for the 2023 Oscars, a bit later in the year than normal but we figured it would allow the whole world to see the nominees. The date will be the 3rd October 2023, and in honour of Convene, the whole auditorium will be painted cerulean. There will also be a theme for the outfits: Pink, because whoever said that orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed.
